Frequently Questions

When does the Open Submission period start and end?

The Open Submission period runs from Monday 30th September 2019 to Tuesday 31st December 2019.

When will you send my manuscript back?

If we send you a response on your manuscript it will be on a separate email and we will not return the manuscript itself. Further unless we make an offer, which you accept, to publish your book we will not keep a copy of your manuscript and all submissions will be destroyed. As such make sure you keep a copy of your manuscript safe.

What font/size/spacing should my submission be?

Ensure your story is legible. We recommend type no smaller than pt 12.

Please submit your story as a Word document.

Any font is acceptable, so long as it is legible. We do recommend Times New Roman.

There is no need to double space your submission, single space is fine.

What information should I provide alongside my submission?

A short author biography (aim for 100-200 words)

Your social media links (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)

A short synopsis/blurb about your book (aim for 250 words)

How soon will I hear back?

We aim to get back to everyone within 12 weeks.

Do I have to pay for anything?

We are a publisher and not a publishing service and therefore we will never ask you for any payment.

What kind of publishing contract do you offer?

When we receive a manuscript via our open submissions that we would like to publish, we will offer the author what’s a called a publishing contract. Like with other contracts, we will work with the author to edit their manuscript, get a designer to create a great commercial cover and distribute the book.

Who owns the copyright in my manuscript?

If you send us your manuscript you are giving us the right to read it and comment on it, nothing more. You will own the copyright in the manuscript at all times.
